How long have you been on DeviantArt?
I've used this account for a little over 9 years it seems... But I had another account that lasted a couple of years before I created this one! ( it doesn't exist anymore )
What does your username mean?
Durandus is my surname plus "us" and it means enduring. I've often thought about changing it to be my real name, Kyle Durand.
Describe yourself in three words.
Thoughtful. Deliberate. Weird.
Are you left or right handed?
What was your first deviation?
What is your favourite type of art to create?
I really enjoy telling a story, so I'd like to say that I lean more toward digital illustration. But simple pinups are just as fun!
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
A Disney or Anime animated style would be nice to have a grip on.. Because I would very much like to animate every idea I have in my head! With time... we shall see.
What was your first favourite?
A DD on the front page.
What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Definitely digital works of the pinup / illustration nature.
Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
I wish I followed anyone in the community more closely and personally, but I really just love to browse the whole of DeviantArt.com...
If you could meet anyone on DeviantArt in person, who would it be?
I feel I could learn a lot from DonatoArts , Donato Giancola.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
I'd say the direction of my artistic endeavors have been influenced greatly by the work I've taken on from my friends in the DeviantArt community...
There is one particular deviant, Presteza. He was the first person to commission work from me, because I was so fond of his character and asked ever so nicely! I'm not sure how far I would have taken my work if it had not been for his generosity, understanding, and patience!
I would very much like to say thank you for all of the encouraging words and praise I have received from you! It still means so much!
What are your preferred tools to create art?
I've just started playing around with Copic Markers, getting a feel for the pencil and pen and ink again... But I would have to say that I prefer to take my pieces to a finish with my tablet and Photoshop!
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
My studio / bedroom.
What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Having someone I've never met before, approach me via private message asking for a quote on a commission, and then actually paying me to do my art! It is so wonderful to make that exchange!
